Debbie's Staffing is recruiting for an Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for our client located in High Point, NC.

$37.00 per hour

Monday-Friday. Flexibility to work overtime as needed is preferred. Job Summary The Assistant Vice President of Human Resources supports the strategic and operational leadership of the Human Resources department. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources (or Chief Human Resources Officer), this position assists in overseeing HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, compliance, workforce planning, and organizational development. The AVP partners with leadership to implement HR initiatives, promote employee engagement, and ensure compliance with employment laws and organizational policies. Key Responsibilities Assist in the leadership and management of Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, compliance, and workforce development. Partner with the Vice President of Human Resources and organizational leadership on workforce planning, employee engagement, and organizational initiatives. Support and oversee recruitment, retention, succession planning, and employee engagement programs. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and personnel policies. Oversee employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, coaching, and performance management. Assist in the development, implementation, and administration of HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Utilize workforce analytics and HR metrics to drive strategic decision-making and continuous improvement. Support leadership development, training initiatives, and organizational change efforts across the agency. Serve as a resource and advisor to managers and employees regarding HR policies, employee relations issues, and performance management. Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, service excellence, and employee engagement throughout the Housing Authority. Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field required Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 3-5 years in a management or senior HR leadership role. Experience in public housing, government, the public sector, nonprofit organizations, or other highly regulated environments preferred. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Demonstrated experience leading HR programs and teams in employee relations, talent management, compliance, and organizational development. Excellent communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms. Ability to think strategically while effectively leading day-to-day HR operations. Must be able to work full-time on-site in High Point, NC.
