WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Pension Representative, you'll serve as an important point of contact for active plan participants, retirees, and beneficiaries. This is a customer-focused position involving frequent phone, in-person, and written communication regarding pension benefits and retirement options. You'll help participants understand their benefits, process retirement-related transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure sensitive information is handled professionally and confidentially. Answer phone, in-person, and written inquiries regarding pension and retirement benefits Explain retirement options, eligibility requirements, and benefit information to participants Maintain accurate records for active and retired plan participants Verify reported hours, vesting, reciprocity, forfeitures, and benefit eligibility Calculate retirement benefits and process monthly retirement income payments Process retirement savings plan distributions Prepare benefit correspondence and research underpayments, overpayments, and other discrepancies Assist with death benefits, life insurance, beneficiary coverage, divorce-related benefit calculations, pension attachments, IRS levies, and child support orders Maintain participant files, check-register files, and agreement records Assist with regular mailings, special mailings, and returned mail Follow HIPAA privacy policies and all confidentiality requirements Provide general administrative support and complete additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent required Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Strong math skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy Professional written and verbal communication abilities Basic computer proficiency Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Experience with AS400 systems or online benefit services is a plus Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally Ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining organized Self-motivated, dependable, and punctual Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed
