Job Description

Workers' Comp & Benefits Coordinator Social Vocational Services (SVS) is an innovative day program that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to provide training & support necessary for those who participate in the services to achieve their social, recreational, vocational & residential goals.
Position Purpose :
To handle Workers' Compensation claims and benefits administration within an assigned SVS division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as a liaison with insurance carrier Contacts newly injured employees immediately Maintains close contact with injured employees, following up as needed Perform all claims reporting duties Ensures all WC leaves of absence run concurrent with any FMLA entitlement Monitor each claim closely until discharge Participate in claims review meetings with insurance broker/carrier Prepare injury reports for, and participates in, Risk Management meetings Works closely with Program Directors or other supervisor to ensure SVS and injured worker are in compliance with all medical advice and/or restrictions Reviews and assists with injury investigations as needed Approve First Aid invoices, pre-employment physical invoices, TB screening invoices; pre-employment drug screen invoices and submits to Accounting Maintains and distributes OSHA forms 300 and 300A At certain corporate locations, handles health, dental, vision, 403b and life insurance benefits Sends out benefits information to newly eligible employees as needed. Collects insurance wavers and Life insurance beneficiary forms Enrolls and deletes employee benefit coverage as needed Reconciles Payforce payroll deductions with benefits invoices Submits reconciled benefits invoices to Accounting for payment Coordinates open enrollments Coordinates and monitors premium payments with employees out on leave of absences Administers COBRA Acts a liaison with insurance carrier At certain corporate locations may assist with Family Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act, and Pregnancy Disability paperwork preparation and monitoring All other duties as assigned by
Human Resources Director or Management Mandated Abuse Reporter Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree with one year experience processing workers' compensation claims preferred. Requires the ability to work independently, organize work without close supervision; ability to establish effective work relationships with healthcare providers, employees, and third-party Workers' Compensation Insurance adjusters; ability to gather facts and prepare reports; ability to analyze situations accurately and make appropriate decisions.
