  • $26 an hour Specialist I/II Benefits administration and monitoring of benefit programs as directed by the Benefits Director Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations Assist employees with benefits related issues and questions in a timely, courteous, and professional manner Manage all files and records in accordance with internal policies, federal confidentiality standards, and employee confidentiality applicable laws Perform regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance Provide positive business relationships and act as liaison between internal and external partners to ensure proper coverage, claim services, and payments Correspond with and distribute enrollment materials to benefit eligible employees Facilitate training classes to all eligible employees to educate employees on benefit package Process supplemental requests as requested by benefit vendors Maintain and update all enrollment and informational materials as needed Generate reports as requested by Benefits Director Implementation of open enrollment•including, but not limited to, review of open enrollment materials and roll out of open enrollment on Benefit Administration system At the direction of either the Benefits Director or Benefits Analyst, administer ACA guided/applicable benefits Other duties as assigned Specialist I is a trainee/entry level in the Specialist series.
Specialist I will work under the direct supervision of the Benefits Director and in tandem with the Senior Benefits Specialist for the purpose of training. As training progresses, and as knowledge and applicable skills increase, the range of duties and scope of responsibilities will broaden. Specialist II is the fully competent level in the Specialist series. Receives general supervision and direction from the Benefits Director. Senior Specialist highest level in the Specialist series. The Senior Specialist receives general supervision and direction from the Benefits Director and is responsible for training of the Specialist I/II. Qualifications

Specialist I:
Possess High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred. Must maintain an extremely high level of confidentiality. Must have strong computer skills, including use of Word, Power Point, Excel and other databases; must maintain electronic file systems. Prior work experience in benefits administration preferred. Must be able to demonstrate good communication skills. Must be very organized and have ability to assign tasks for timely completion. Must be able to carry out projects with minimal instruction. Must be able to make sound work decisions in accordance with rules, regulations and departmental policies and procedures. Must establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees and the public. Must possess a valid California drivers' license and comply with the requirements of the Tribe's driving policy and insurance requirements.
