Role:
Triumph Modular is seeking an Payroll & Benefits Specialist to support and execute core HR functions with a focus on payroll, benefits administration, and employee support. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a small, collaborative environment and can independently manage day-to-day HR operations with accuracy and discretion. Reporting to the HR Director, this position will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth and compliant employee experience across payroll, benefits, and HR systems.
Core Functions and Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration Process and manage payroll on a regular cycle (weekly) in partnership with payroll provider UKG Ensure accuracy of employee data, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments Audit payroll reports and resolve discrepancies Serve as primary point of contact for employee payroll questions Support year-end processes (W-2s, audits, reconciliations) Ensure all payroll activities are compliant with applicable federal and state regulations Benefits Administration Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401k, etc.) Manage new hire enrollments, life events Serve as the main point of contact for employee benefits inquiries Own and manage the full lifecycle of employee benefits from onboarding through separation, including health, dental, vision, wellness, and retirement plan. Support annual open enrollment process and employee communications Ensure a seamless, compliant, and employee-centered experience at every stage of the benefits process Employee Support Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS Support onboarding and offboarding processes (documentation, system setup, coordination) Assist with leave tracking and coordination (FMLA, PFML, etc.) Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations Maintain a visible, approachable, and service-oriented HR presence HR Systems & Reporting Maintain data integrity within HRIS and payroll systems Generate standard HR reports (headcount, turnover, benefits participation) Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and workflows Qualifications Must have 4 to 6+ years of experience in HR operations, payroll, or benefits administration Strong working knowledge of payroll processes and benefits administration Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (ADP, Paylocity, UKG, or similar) Familiarity with multi-state compliance; Massachusetts experience is a plus High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion Comfortable working independently in a small HR team environment You bring a strong sense of ownership and personal accountability to your work. You are highly organized and operationally strong, able to manage competing priorities with precision. You demonstrate sound judgment and maintain confidentiality under all circumstances. You communicate with credibility and warmth across a wide range of stakeholders. Preferred Experience supporting a small to mid-sized company (50-200 employees) Exposure to leave administration (FMLA, PFML) HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
