Full Job Description Key Responsibilities:
Serve as primary point of contact for benefit-related questions and navigation. Administer benefit programs including but not limited to medical, dental, life and disability insurances, pension and retirement plans, leaves, time off benefits, etc. Coordinate complex leave and time off administration such as paid time off, Short Term Disability, FMLA, PFML, etc. Become subject matter expert in administrating multiple types of employee benefits, including non-union, benefits defined in Highway Heavy CBA's and other CBA's Manage benefit enrollments and terminations, claims resolution, and billing Communicate and coordinate annual open enrollment Partner with payroll, finance, and external vendors to confirm weekly and monthly financial tie-outs of union and non-union benefits Prepare all required plan communications to participants Maintain payroll and benefit system Serve as the backup payroll administrator Maintain employee and medical records according to company, local, state and federal requirements Perform required plan audits, as needed Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and other agency rules and regulations pertaining to area(s) of responsibility Maintain accurate and up to date process documentation Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required 10+ years of experience in Human Resources 7+ years of experience in benefits and leave administration, preferred Ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment Ability to uphold confidentiality standards Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to be flexible and adaptable with multiple demands and changing priorities Analytical focus and self-motivation to document process and improvements Proficient in
