Human Resources / Total Rewards Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Compensation Consultant to join our Total Rewards team and serve as a trusted compensation advisor to multiple business lines within a complex, growing organization. This role combines strategic compensation consulting with a strong focus on Job Architecture implementation and enablement. The ideal candidate brings deep compensation expertise, strong business acumen, executive presence, and the ability to influence senior leaders through complex compensation, workforce, and organizational transformation initiatives. You will partner closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Workforce Planning, HRIS, and business leaders to deliver consistent, equitable, market-informed compensation and leveling practices. Key Responsibilities Strategic Compensation Consulting Serve as a primary compensation advisor to assigned business areas, providing consultation on a broad range of compensation matters. Advise leaders and HR partners on market pricing, job evaluations, job leveling, internal equity, salary recommendations, promotions, organizational changes, and incentive opportunities. Develop compensation analyses, market studies, and data-driven recommendations to support business and workforce decisions. Support annual compensation programs, including merit increases, promotions, market adjustments, and bonus planning. Partner on compensation benchmarking and market analysis activities. Support pay equity analysis, regulatory reporting, and compensation governance requirements. Educate leaders and HR partners on compensation philosophy, programs, processes, and annual compensation cycles. Job Architecture Implementation & Enablement Support enterprise-wide implementation and adoption of a Job Architecture framework. Lead and facilitate job leveling, employee mapping, job evaluation, and organizational calibration activities. Guide leaders through job family, career track, and level decisions while maintaining consistency with enterprise standards. Help leaders understand how Job Architecture connects to compensation, career progression, talent development, workforce planning, and organizational design. Identify and resolve complex job architecture and compensation issues through consultation and stakeholder engagement. Support change management, communications, training, and ongoing enablement related to Job Architecture. Enterprise Partnership & Influence Build trusted relationships with business leaders and senior stakeholders. Influence compensation decisions by balancing business needs, market conditions, talent considerations, and enterprise standards. Collaborate with HR Business Partners and cross-functional HR teams to develop aligned solutions. Champion consistency, equity, and sound compensation governance across the organization. Program & Process Improvement Identify opportunities to simplify and improve compensation and Job Architecture processes. Develop tools, communications, training materials, and governance resources that support adoption. Stay current on compensation trends, market practices, and emerging Total Rewards strategies. Evaluate compensation programs against market conditions and recommend improvements to ensure competitiveness. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive compensation experience, ideally within financial services, insurance, or another complex corporate environment. Strong knowledge of compensation principles and practices, including: Market pricing and benchmarking Job evaluation and job leveling Salary structures Internal equity Pay equity Incentive compensation Compensation governance Experience consulting with business leaders and HR partners on complex compensation matters. Experience supporting or implementing Job Architecture, career frameworks, job families, or leveling frameworks strongly preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and build credibility across an organization. Strong business acumen and understanding of workforce and talent considerations. High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential compensation information.
