Position:
The Fresh Market currently has an opening for a Leave Specialist in our Store Support Center located in Greensboro, NC.
What You'll Do:
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of TFM leave processes (FMLA, Personal Medical Leave, and Personal Leave), including processing, follow-up, and documentation of inquiries. Partner with external leave vendors to administer and manage leave claims. Coordinate with disability carriers to manage short- and long-term disability claims. Oversee return to work processes and partner with leave vendors on ADA accommodations, collaborating with team members and store leadership. Ensure compliance with federal and state leave requirements through coordination with supervisors and management. Serve as a liaison between team members and third party administrators/carriers. Respond to team member inquiries; research and resolve benefits and enrollment issues. Track and manage benefit arrears, including monitoring balances, coordinating recovery, and ensuring accurate documentation. Coordinate arrears billing processes with carriers and ensure timely communication with team members regarding payment responsibilities. Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions, adjustments, and reconciliation of benefits related transactions. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of TFM leave processes (FMLA, Personal Medical Leave, and Personal Leave), including processing, follow-up, and documentation of inquiries. Prepare correspondence, reports, and perform additional duties as directed by the Director of Total Rewards and Benefits Manager.
Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience in leave of absence and benefits administration Experience managing leave programs for a multi-state employer, including FMLA and applicable state leave laws Working knowledge of ADA accommodations and return to work processes Experience partnering with third party administrators and disability carriers (STD/LTD) Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS/benefits and payroll systems preferred Ability to build and maintain professional relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners High attention to detail with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to confidentiality Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field PHR, SHRM-CP or Certified Professional in Disability Management (CPDM). Experience supporting benefits arrears tracking, direct billing processes, and/or payroll deductions Experience resolving complex leave, accommodation, or benefits issues and escalations Demonstrated ability to improve processes, drive accuracy, or enhance vendor performance We are proud to be an
