Job Title:
Benefits Representative Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Benefits Representative to provide comprehensive benefits-related support and information to our faculty, staff, and retirees. This role requires a deep understanding of our benefit plans, programs, and policies to ensure effective communication and resolution of inquiries. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day benefits-related research and information to faculty, staff, and retirees, addressing questions about health and welfare plans, employee and dependent eligibility, and enrollment completion. Review and approve enrollment by faculty and staff in the Health & Welfare Plans online, ensuring all necessary documentation is received for elections made. Respond to client inquiries and complaints to ensure timely and courteous resolution of problems related to benefits enrollment and processing. Act as a liaison with university employees and external benefits contacts, providing guidance in the resolution of eligibility, claims, and enrollment issues. Review and triage all assigned reports. Utilize internal and external databases for cross-referencing inquiries to determine resolutions. Maintain customer service standards as outlined for the team. Be proficient in various software applications, such as spreadsheets, word processing, and graphics packages, to assemble, manipulate, and format data and reports. Apply a working knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations affecting benefits. Attend designated training programs, seminars, and meetings. Serve on workgroups and committees as requested. Perform special duties and projects. Handle confidential information appropriately. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Two years of benefits-related experience. Proficiency in customer service, HR benefits, and customer service call centers. Experience with open enrollment and benefits. Familiarity with Workday and customer support platforms. Additional Skills & Qualifications Additional education may substitute for required experience, as permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Work Environment The position requires working on-site 4 days a week with 1 day remote. The work location is 1101 E 33rd Street, Baltimore, MD. The contract is expected to last until at least the end of the year. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
