Health Plan Specialist (Medicare Customer Service)

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM CT (8-Hour shift)

Job Type:

Contract-to-Hire (5 Months) About the Opportunity A leading health insurance organization is seeking experienced Health Plan Specialists to support a high-volume open enrollment season. This role focuses on assisting Medicare members by providing exceptional customer service, answering benefit-related questions, and helping members navigate their healthcare coverage options. This position is ideal for individuals who are empathetic, patient, and passionate about helping others, particularly an elderly population. Key Responsibilities

+ Handle inbound calls from Medicare members regarding benefits, coverage, claims, and general healthcare plan questions.

+ Assist members in understanding and navigating their Medicare benefits and available resources.

+ Provide accurate information while delivering outstanding customer service and resolving member concerns.

+ Document customer interactions and maintain detailed records in company systems.

+ Manage a high-volume call environment, averaging 50-70 inbound calls per day. QualificationsRequired

+ Minimum of 2 years of call center experience.

+ Excellent customer service and communication skills.

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred

+ Health insurance or payer experience.

+ Medicare experience.

+ Medicaid experience.

+ Experience assisting members with healthcare benefits or enrollment-related inquiries. Work Environment

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
