Our client is currently seeking a HR Benefits Specialist- Senior HR Benefits Specialist (Contract)
Location:
Denver/Lone Tree, CO (
Hybrid:
4 days on-site and 1 day remote )
Job Type:
Contract (12+ months, with potential for extension) About the job This role will focus on providing support for the leave of absence, accommodations, and disability plans and programs that are managed within the benefits team. This includes all aspects of leave of absence administration, accommodations and disability support, including research and resolution of complex case escalations, including direct employee, manager, and vendor interactions. The ideal candidate will have a background in leave of absence, accommodations, and disability plan administration and management, including exposure to policies, practices, and legal requirements in the leave of absence and disability management space. To ensure efficient and scalable administration of our benefit programs, this role will partner closely with internal and external partners such as the Schwab HR contact center, Legal, and Payroll teams as well as third-party vendors. Responsibilities Assisting the Benefits team with the management of disability, leave of absence (continuous or intermittent), return to work, ADA, and extended medical leave programs while ensuring compliance with Local, State and Federal laws Partnering with disability/leave of absence vendor and acting as a liaison between the vendor and employees Ensuring proper integration of vendor FMLA administration with short-term disability plan Interpreting HR policy and legislative developments to ensure compliance Responding to employee, manager, vendor, and internal and external call center escalations and questions Working with Legal, HR management, internal corporate functions, and external vendors, as needed, to solve complex and time-sensitive issues. Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources, management, or other relevant discipline is preferred - equivalent work experience will be considered 5+ years of experience working on leave of absence, return to work programs, ADA, extended medical leave programs, short-term disability, long-term disability HR Systems knowledge and experience. Experience with Workday and ServiceNow a plus Experience working with third-party disability and leave of absence administrators Ability to execute high-quality work on time Strong organizational and time management skills Experience learning new processes and identifying opportunities to streamline and improve existing practices Ability to work in a lean, high volume, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment Ability to identify the root cause of an issue and suggest an approach to resolve to management
