Job Description

This position is responsible for day-to-day processing of participant and company payroll transactions for the Alsco 401(k) Savings Plan and various union pension plans. The position analyzes activity in the plan, and prepares reports for management, outside auditors, and to the record keeper / trustee. This position assists the department during the annual open enrollment, presentations regarding 401k/pension with new office managers/HR managers and meets with general office new hires to review the 401k benefits. This position reports to the Benefits Manager.
Hourly base pay:
$24-$27
You Will:
Update, audit, and track records for 401(k) participants. Manage union pension records within HRIS system. Prepare and reconcile company and participant contributions to be transmitted to the record keeper. Problem solve by means of direct communication with 401(k) participants. Report and analyze as required by Alsco's outside auditors. Interpret plan provisions for participants and branch HR personnel. Participate in department discussions and contributing to efforts to improve the administration of the 401(k) Plan. Other retirement plan and/or benefit related projects as assigned.
What You Bring:
Knowledge of basic accounting principles, including the ability to reconcile accounts. Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or equivalent related work experience preferred. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office. Good organizational, administrative, and communication skills. Some working knowledge of ERISA-qualified retirement plans. Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines. 1 - 2 years direct experience in the administration of a 401(k) Plan. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to comprehend and follow direction and excellent time management skills. Proven ability to multi-task and take ownership of projects, strong attention to details and accuracy. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Work Environment and Requirements:
Physical Demands/Requirements consist of standing, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching overhead, grasping, seeing, reading, speaking, hearing, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Indoor office environment. Travel is required 2-4 times per year.
