SUMMARY:
The Health Benefits Agent/Account Manager is responsible for client relationship management, sales development, and employee benefits program execution to support clients' workforce health and benefits strategies. Sells and services medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, and other employee benefits products and services to clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage client relationships by servicing accounts, responding to inquiries, and providing guidance regarding employee benefits programs, coverage options, eligibility requirements, and compliance considerations. Analyze client needs, workforce demographics, and benefits objectives to recommend appropriate employee benefits products and coverage solutions. Support sales growth by prospecting new clients, presenting proposals, and negotiating policy terms and conditions. Coordinate policy administration activities, including renewals, enrollment support, plan modifications, carrier communications, and ongoing account maintenance. Maintain knowledge of employee benefits products, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to support clients and agency objectives. Collaborate with carriers, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of employee benefits services. Support agency operations through participation in projects, compliance initiatives, employee education programs, and benefits strategy development. Assist in accomplishing organizational goals by working effectively within established core values, best practices, and performance expectations. Maintain accurate records, documentation, and communications related to client accounts and benefits programs. Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree preferred with 5+ years of experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 10+ years of experience. State Insurance License required, including a Life and Health Insurance License. Ten or more years of health benefits insurance industry experience required. Experience working with employer-sponsored health and welfare benefit programs preferred. Travel and client interaction required. Valid driver's license required. Attendance consistent with business needs.
