Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced REMOTE Benefits Programs Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Newport News, Virginia. This role focuses on evaluating Medicaid eligibility for specific populations, including aged, blind, and disabled individuals, while ensuring effective benefits coordination and administration. If you have a strong background in compensation and benefits analysis, this position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully within the non-profit sector.
Responsibilities:
  • Assess Medicaid eligibility for individuals classified as aged, blind, or disabled by conducting detailed case evaluations.
  • Analyze available resources and determine eligibility criteria for Medicaid programs.
  • Identify individuals who meet protected status requirements and complete comprehensive Medicaid evaluations.
  • Review and interpret organizational forms and documentation for updates, changes, or conversions.
  • Ensure accurate application of Medicaid regulations and guidelines during casework processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline benefits coordination and administration.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on benefits analysis to support decision-making.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation for all case evaluations and eligibility determinations.
  • Stay informed about changes in state and federal Medicaid policies to ensure compliance.
  • Deliver thorough and timely services to meet the needs of beneficiaries. Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Benefits Programs Specialist.
  • Proven expertise in determining eligibility for aged, blind, and disabled populations, including long-term services and auxiliary grants.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicaid regulations and benefits coordination processes.
  • Familiarity with benefits analysis and administration, including compensation and benefits functions.
  • Proficiency with forms and documentation related to benefits programs.
  • Ability to analyze complex cases and make informed eligibility determinations.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and maintain accurate records.
