Job Description
The Opportunity We are a well-established, family-owned independent insurance brokerage looking for an accomplished Executive Vice President of Employee Benefits to lead and grow our Employee Benefits practice. This is an opportunity to truly own and build a business. You will lead the division's strategy, growth, client relationships, team development, carrier partnerships, technology, and overall results while serving as a member of the firm's senior leadership team. You'll work directly with our CEO, advise our largest clients, partner with producers to win new business, and build the team and infrastructure needed to take the practice to the next level. What You'll Do Own the strategy, revenue, retention, growth, and overall performance of the Employee Benefits division Serve as senior advisor and relationship leader for the firm's largest and most complex benefits clients Lead renewal strategies across fully insured, level-funded, self-funded, and captive solutions Advise CEOs, CFOs, and HR leaders on plan design, funding, contribution strategy, and long-term cost management Partner with producers on prospecting, proposals, cross-selling, and new business while developing your own pipeline Lead, mentor, and grow the Employee Benefits account management and service team Build strong relationships with carriers, TPAs, PEOs, stop-loss markets, and benefits technology partners Serve as a senior resource on ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, Form 5500, and benefits compliance Oversee Employee Navigator, Applied Epic, enrollment processes, and benefits technology Identify new technology, automation, and AI tools that improve efficiency and the client experience What We're Looking For 10+ years of Employee Benefits brokerage or consulting experience Deep knowledge of group medical, ancillary, voluntary benefits, alternative funding, underwriting, and compliance Proven experience retaining and growing a meaningful book of benefits business Track record of winning new business and partnering effectively with producers Experience hiring, developing, and leading Employee Benefits teams Active Florida 2-15 Life, Health and Variable Annuity license Strong executive presence with the ability to advise C-suite and HR decision-makers Experience with Employee Navigator and Applied Epic or comparable systems Experience leading open enrollment and new-client onboarding Experience with self-funded and level-funded plans, stop-loss, captives, PEOs, and independent brokerage environments is highly valued.
