This position provides leadership to the sales and service team while developing scalable processes that support growth, regulatory compliance, exceptional client service, and long-term client retention. The Director serves as a subject matter expert for Medicare and Individual/ACA health insurance and is responsible for ensuring agents and service staff have the training, tools, carrier relationships, processes, and resources necessary to effectively serve clients. Minimum Required Qualifications Active resident Minnesota Accident & Health insurance license. Significant experience with Medicare, Individual/ACA health insurance, or related health insurance products. Strong understanding of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D, and Medicare enrollment requirements. Working knowledge of Individual/ACA Marketplace coverage and enrollment processes in Minnesota. Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Comfortable using CRM, quoting, enrollment, carrier, and reporting platforms. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of Medicare and/or Individual health insurance experience in Minnesota. Experience retaining and expanding a Medicare or Individual insurance book of business. Experience with Minnesota Medicare and Individual health insurance markets. Experience with Minnesota Medicare and MNsure and Minnesota Individual Market products. AHIP and applicable carrier certifications. Key Responsibilities Medicare & Individual Market Leadership Serve as an internal subject matter expert for Medicare and Individual health insurance. Maintain strong knowledge of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D, Original Medicare, ACA/Marketplace plans, and applicable enrollment rules. Monitor CMS, carrier, Marketplace, and state regulatory developments affecting the business. Evaluate carrier products, networks, formularies, service capabilities, commissions, and market positioning. Maintain productive relationships with carrier representatives and strategic partners. Team Leadership & Development Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop Medicare and Individual agents and support staff. Establish clear expectations for sales performance, service standards, documentation, and compliance. Conduct regular coaching, case reviews, and performance discussions. Develop structured training programs for new agents and continuing education for existing staff. Create a culture focused on education, consultative selling, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional client service. Client Experience & Retention Establish service standards for prospects, clients, and referral partners. Ensure clients receive clear, accurate, and unbiased education regarding available coverage options. Develop processes for annual Medicare and Individual plan reviews. Oversee escalated client service issues and complex enrollment situations. Develop proactive retention strategies and client communication campaigns. Ensure smooth handoffs between sales, enrollment, and ongoing client service. Operations & Process Management Develop and maintain workflows for lead intake, appointments, quoting, enrollment, follow-up, documentation, and ongoing service. Establish procedures for Annual Enrollment Period, Open Enrollment Period, Special Enrollment Periods, and other high-volume enrollment periods. Evaluate and implement technology that improves agent productivity and client experience. Maintain accurate CRM and client documentation standards. Coordinate staffing and workload planning for seasonal enrollment periods. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure Medicare sales and marketing activities comply with applicable CMS requirements and carrier guidelines. Ensure Individual/ACA enrollment practices comply with applicable federal, state, Marketplace, and carrier requirements. Maintain appropriate documentation, licensing, certifications, and carrier appointments for the team.
Pay:
