Full Job Description Key Responsibilities:
Compensation Management:
Partner closely with Global pension, regional SBU and GF leaders, as well as Regional HR Business Partners, to ensure solutions are practical, market-competitive, and responsive to business needs. Support the design, administration, and continuous enhancement of regional and locally driven programs, such as site bonus plans, recognition awards, educational support, relocation programs, and company car programs, in close partnership with the business and relevant Group Functions.
Benefits Strategy and Management:
Develop, implement, and oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans. Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and support during union negotiations related to benefits and total rewards. Ensure employee benefits programs are compliant with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements while remaining cost-effective and aligned with business objectives. Conduct regular reviews and assessments of employee benefits programs to ensure they remain competitive, effective, and aligned with the evolving needs of employees and the business.
Policy Development and Implementation:
Develop, implement, and maintain compensation and benefits policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with applicable labor laws, regulations, and internal governance standards. Regularly review, update, and maintain the salaried employee handbook for the USA, as well as HR-owned policies, to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with current practices and regulations. Provide guidance and support to Mexico and Canada as needed in the creation, review, update, and maintenance of salaried employee handbooks.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local compensation and benefits regulations. Manage the preparation, coordination, and submission of required plan documentation and regulatory filings with applicable government and oversight agencies.
Employee Communication and Education:
Develop and implement clear communication strategies to educate employees on compensation and benefits programs, ensuring transparency and understanding. Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to managers and employees on compensation and benefits matters, as needed, to promote consistent and effective application across the organization.
Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with external consultants, benefits, and compensation vendors. Provide governance over contract negotiations to ensure cost-effective solutions and delivery of high quality, reliable services.
Union Management:
Lead Union contract negotiations to ensure the mutual goals of employee and management are met within the confines of the business.
Budget Management:
Develop, manage, and oversee the regional compensation and benefits budget, ensuring alignment with business priorities and financial guidelines. Drive cost-effective delivery of compensation and benefits programs while maintaining competitiveness, quality, and compliance across the region.
HRIS and Data Management:
Oversee the management and governance of compensation and benefits data within the HRIS, ensuring accurate configuration and effective use of systems. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of compensation and benefits data, supporting reliable reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
Leadership and Team Development:
Act as an active member of the North America HR Leadership Team (NA HR LT), contributing a strong regional perspective and partnering with peers to shape HR strategy, drive alignment, and support business priorities across the region. Lead, mentor, and develop compensation, benefits, and payroll team to drive high performance, engagement, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development support to build strong capabilities and succession within the team. Key Skills and Competencies:
Technical and Professional Skills:
Deep understanding of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and regulatory requirements across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Strong working knowledge of market analysis, job evaluation methodologies, and the design and governance of pay structures. Proficiency in HRIS platforms and compensation and benefits systems, with the ability to leverage data for analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
Leadership and Management Skills:
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted, respectful relationships across functions and with senior leadership, navigating complex situations with diplomacy and professionalism. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex compensation and benefits concepts to diverse audiences. Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing compensation and benefits teams. Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate business needs into effective total rewards solutions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required; an MBA is preferred. Professional certifications such as CCP, CBP, and/or CEBS are highly desirable. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits or broader HR roles, with demonstrated success operating at a senior or regional leadership level.
