Assistant Store Director
Overall function: To assist the store director in general management duties and to share responsibility for the store operation and performance. To coordinate and direct the overall operations of the store in the absence of the store director.
Key Accountabilities:
- Actively support the store director in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling store activities and operations.
- Perform all duties of the store director in their absence.
- Monitor front-end activities to ensure that all cashiers comply with store policies in the handling of all transactions.
- Demonstrate and maintain a positive and friendly atmosphere where employees provide excellent customer service in an efficient, prompt, and courteous manner.
- Handle customer and associate complaints.
- Cashier and carry out as needed. Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
- Ensure product stocking, facing, and rotation procedures are followed.
- Ensure merchandise is properly priced and price changes are implemented in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all ad merchandise is properly priced, displayed, and stocked.
- Ensure that all displays are built for maximum sales and profits, are pleasing to the eye, properly signed, and include tie-in merchandise.
- Assist in controlling inventory levels.
- Monitor the receiving and unloading of merchandise to ensure accurate billing and pricing.
- Enforce receiving procedures according to company policy.
- Routinely check products to confirm quality, count, and condition.
- Perform dry grocery ordering, specials, and special orders.
- Monitor and ensure all store supplies are properly ordered and stocked.
- Handle all buying in the store director's absence.
- Oversee all ordering responsibilities for the whole store, including grocery, frozen, and dairy, produce, meat, deli, and bakery.
- Help manage issues relating to store maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation.
- Help oversee security procedures in the store and shoplifting incidents.
