Job Summary:
The Inclusion Specialist provides leadership and expertise within the School Age Child Care (SACC) program in the areas of inclusion and behavior support. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring program-wide procedures, goals, and best practices related to inclusion and behavior management. Monitoring new student enrollments and coordinating intake conferences with parents/guardians of children with special needs. Collaborating with school staff to ensure consistent support across settings. Observing and evaluating students who face challenges adjusting to the SACC environment, and recommending appropriate interventions or accommodations, either internally or through external partnerships. Creating individualized, written behavior management strategies (inclusion plans) and providing staff training and mentoring to ensure consistent and appropriate implementation. Designing and delivering ongoing professional development and training opportunities for SACC staff focused on inclusive practices, positive behavior support, and managing challenging behaviors. Maintaining accurate records, including data collection and analysis, to inform and improve practices. Regularly supervising and evaluating staff in their execution of behavior plans and inclusive practices, providing constructive feedback, and addressing any related performance concerns.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in education, special education teaching, social work, school psychologist, guidance counselor, elementary education or related field. Two years supervisory experience. Demonstrated experience and excellence in addressing behavioral supports. Skills in collecting and using data analysis to inform instructional decisions. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate (written and verbal) effectively with parents, students, staff and other professionals. Demonstrates strong written communication skills, including the ability to compose clear, concise, and professional emails, reports, and documentation tailored to various audiences Possesses excellent interpersonal and teaming skills. Ability to handle calmly & effectively emotionally charged situations and intervene in crisis situations. Ability to mentor and train others to apply effective behavior management techniques. Ability to meet intense physical demands of training of restrictive procedures including CPI. Possesses excellent organization skills, self-motivation, and follow through. Commitment to
