Student Affairs/Inst'l Equity Position Information Description & Details:
The purpose of this position is to: monitor compliance with institutional equal opportunity policies and procedures and state and federal non-discrimination laws and regulations; prepare institutional reports and responses related to equity and compliance; conduct investigations in response to complaints related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sexual misconduct; and provide related training to campus constituents. Conduct impartial investigations of complaints of alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and/or sexual misconduct by faculty, staff, and students; Interact with other campus units regarding investigations Continuously identify and integrate best practices in investigations; Maintain files and databases of investigations and report activity periodically to Equal Opportunity and Title IX Compliance staff; Assist and provide guidance to employees and students in completing report forms and complaint forms and explain investigation processes and procedures; Maintain current knowledge of federal and state civil rights laws, regulations, policies, and case law, including that related to the Title VI, Title VII, ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, ADEA, and Title IX as well as maintain current knowledge of applicable university policies and procedures; Act as a resource to departments and units on matters related to equal opportunity compliance, including addressing questions/concerns from search committee members throughout recruitment and selection processes; Assist in designing and implementing campus-wide initiatives and strategies to recognize, report, and prevent harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and sexual misconduct; Assist with Equal Opportunity/Title IX trainings; Coordinate development of educational materials and other resources to the University community related to federal and state civil rights laws and regulations and related institutional policies and procedures.Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8:00 am•5:00 pm, 7:30 am•4:00 pm during breaks and summerHiring Range:
$58,600•$66,000 Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science (or equivalent undergraduate degree) in human resources, social sciences, business, regulatory, legal, or related field.; Certification(s) from nationally recognized association(s) (ATIXA, AAAED, etc.) in investigations; Demonstrated experience in conducting independent, complex investigations.Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of federal and state civil rights laws and regulations, including Title VI, Title VII, ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, ADEA, and Title IX; Experience working with equal opportunity and non-discrimination; Experience working in higher education; Experience conducting training.Applicant Materials Required:
