Colgate enjoys a strong tradition of philanthropy, having committed more than $800 million toward the $1 billion goal for the Campaign for the Third Century , which kicked off publicly in April 2022. This tradition of philanthropy, paired with strong levels of alumni affinity, positions Colgate well for even greater success, as Vice President and Campaign Director Kim Harris and the Advancement team partner with university leadership to enhance campaign priorities to meet the vision for the University's Third Century and secure commitments to sustain Colgate's momentum in support of emerging priorities.
Accountabilities:
Responsible for developing, cultivating and stewarding relationships with major gift prospects and donors as assigned to secure resources in support of Colgate's mission and campaign priorities and increase levels of engagement utilizing effective prospect qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies. Responsible for developing and executing strategies for solicitation that maximize the prospect's giving potential while aligning university priorities with donor intent. Responsible for effectively accessing and navigating relevant technology systems used in advancement, and utilizing data as a resource in decision-making while maintaining respect for the security of private or confidential information. Responsible for developing strong working relationships with Office of Advancement colleagues, University administrators, faculty and staff to professionally address both opportunities and concerns. Accountable for meeting performance metrics established by the Office of Advancement. Professional Experience/Qualifications A minimum of three years of experience in higher education fundraising, sales, non-profits, or related fields. Preferred Qualifications Education Bachelor's required. Other Information This position requires extensive travel to engage with and solicit prospects, including meeting with constituents and staffing both on-campus and off-campus events. Position provides for the opportunity to work remotely from CT, GA, MA, NJ, OH, PA, RI, VA, TX, and NY without relocation. Work requires collaboration with other team members during standard business hours and will be required to report to our Hamilton, NY campus for meetings and events. It is expected that remote employees will attend on campus Division Meetings four times a year as well as staff Reunion yearly. It is expected that remote employees will make every effort to engage in the life of the university, which may include attending campus events such as homecoming, ACI weekend, family weekend and commencement. Remote arrangements such as this are reviewed annually and based on performance. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
