Job Description
Job Summary We are growing! We are an independent Recreational Therapy agency providing community supports to individuals with varying disAbilities within Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. We also devise and implement various inclusive adaptive health & wellness groups as well as facilitated social opportunities for the larger community. We also collaborate with multiple non-profits, community organizations and township programs to provide purposeful and therapeutic community programming. We are seeking Recreational Therapists and Allied Health Professionals to develop and implement therapeutic recreational programs tailored to diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioral health challenges. We have hourly and salary positions available. The ideal candidate will utilize a variety of community based therapeutic modalities to promote physical, emotional, and social well-being. This role requires an understanding of behavioral health, disabilities, and recreation modalities. This role is responsible for implementing individualized goal-based community activities according to the care plan incorporating active choice making, socialization opportunities, and enhancing leisure opportunities under the direction of the Recreational Therapy Director. We have many opportunities for advancement within our agency as well as opportunities to build community programming. Duties Facilitate community therapeutic recreation programming that incorporates a variety of modalities suited to client needs and goals. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper recording of progress notes and treatment outcomes. Collaborate with team members in the coordination and facilitation of care plans. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols during all recreational activities. Use of personal vehicle while implementing community engagement goals with clients within Philadelphia and the surrounding counties (mileage reimbursement provided) Experience Experience working with people with disabilities Experience in individualized recreational modalities. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams Ability to initiate effective communication and implement feedback Position Minimal Requirements Valid driver's license Reliable and insured car Bachelor's Degree in health-related field We do have hourly positions available for college students studying a a related health field Preferred Requirements Degree in Recreational Therapy Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Experience working with individuals with ID/DD and physical disabilities Flexibility for 1-2 Saturdays per month
