Human Resources & Billing Internship
Job Description
Position Summary PTP Transport is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources & Billing Intern to support our office operations. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in both Human Resources and Accounting functions within a growing transportation company. The intern will work directly with management and gain practical experience in employee onboarding, recruiting, personnel administration, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and administrative operations. This position is ideal for students pursuing degrees in: Human Resources Business Administration Accounting Finance Management Organizational Leadership Human Resources Responsibilities Assist with recruiting and applicant tracking Review employment applications and resumes Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates Prepare onboarding packets and new hire documentation Assist with background checks and drug screen coordination Maintain personnel files and employee records Assist with new hire orientation Support employee engagement activities Assist with payroll and timekeeping audits Maintain confidentiality of employee information Support HR compliance initiatives and documentation Billing & Accounting Responsibilities Generate customer invoices Verify billing accuracy and supporting documentation Assist with accounts receivable activities Monitor outstanding invoices and collections Post customer payments Review billing discrepancies and research issues Update customer account information Assist with month-end reporting Maintain organized electronic and paper records Support administrative and office accounting functions Additional Duties Answer and direct incoming phone calls Assist with data entry projects Maintain filing systems Support management with special projects Coordinate office communication and administrative tasks Perform general office support duties as assigned Qualifications Preferred candidates will possess: Strong organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Attention to detail and accuracy Professional demeanor Ability to maintain confidential information Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn HR and accounting processes Preferred Education Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program related to: Human Resources Accounting Business Administration Finance Management Organizational Leadership Skills Gained By the end of the internship, participants will have exposure to: Recruiting and onboarding Employee relations administration HR compliance and documentation Payroll support functions Accounts receivable processes Business operations management Customer billing and collections Professional communication Transportation industry administration Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods Ability to operate standard office equipment Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds Internship Outcomes Successful interns may be considered for future employment opportunities with PTP Transport based on performance, business needs, and available positions.
