Job Description

HR/Payroll Administrator We are partnering with a well established and growing organization in the construction sector to identify a highly skilled HR/Payroll Administrator . This will be a key role supporting both payroll operations and HR compliance initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and has a strong understanding of payroll processes within construction or field-based industries. The HR/Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 150 employees , while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations, including Alabama state laws. This individual will also play a critical role in supporting HR-related functions and maintaining internal compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees in a high-volume environment Ensure compliance with federal, state (Alabama), and local payroll regulations Maintain accurate payroll records, reporting, and audits Partner with leadership on HR compliance, employee relations, and policy adherence Support onboarding processes and employee documentation Monitor and ensure compliance with ACA and other regulatory requirements Assist with job costing, labor allocation, and payroll reporting tied to project work Handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in payroll processing and/or HR Construction industry experience Strong knowledge of HR laws, compliance, and payroll regulations Experience processing payroll for 100+ employees Familiarity with Alabama employment laws required Experience with internal payroll systems (non-outsourced environments preferred) High attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to manage sensitive information Bilingual (Spanish) a plus Experience in environments with job costing or project-based accounting We look forward to your resume!
