DEFINITION
Under close supervision, greets incoming guests, assists with clerical duties and acts as a liaison between the community, schools and departments for Sunnyside Unified School District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledges, skills and other characteristics. This list of tasks is

ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class).
TASKS:
Greets visitors, provides welcoming environment for all visitors; ensures office is well organized and attractive; answers, and transfers telephone calls; sorts and distributes mail; makes copies; sends and receives faxes; finalizes letters, labels and mailings; assists with clerical duties as assigned. Prepares paperwork for current and separated employee verification records; enters data into multiple databases; processes employee absences in absence management system; processes employment verifications for current and past employees; schedules appointments; coordinates and schedules meetings; orders, distributes, and maintains office supplies; may assist with job fairs, health fairs and other events; performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
: Knowledge of District policies and procedures. Knowledge of clerical techniques. Skill in the use of a personal computer and related software programs. Skill in handling requests in a timely manner. Skill in updating and maintaining letters and reports. Skill in following oral and written instructions. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion, vision to monitor, and may require some lifting. May be exposed to hostile or irate staff, students or public.
QUALIFICATIONS
: High School Diploma or equivalent. One (1) year clerical experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
: Bilingual (Spanish and English)
