Human Resources Assistant Acute Hospital Full Time Day Shift
M-F:
8:00am -4:30pm
Salary Range:
$21.19 - $29.21 Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity.
Position Summary:
This position reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources. Plans, coordinates, and implements a variety of technical personnel work, and complex clerical tasks, most of which involve extensive computer use. Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the department and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits; and treats visitors, staff and physicians. Must work well under stress or tight deadlines. Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors.

Position Duties/Responsibility:
Manages the onboarding and credentialing process for incoming staff, ensuring all compliance documentation is completed before authorization to work. Coordinates with department directors to facilitate clearance and ensure a smooth first day of employment. Taking photos and creating new employees and replacement name/time badges. Maintains employee HealthStream accounts in the HRIS system for new hires, changes and separation. Creating and distributing to director's monthly honorary/birthday meal cards for departments. Process HR Mail (Incoming & Outgoing). Track office supplies and order when stocks are low. Assists in planning employee functions such as the semi-annual Ceremonies of Champions. Assist with HR/Personnel files that include scanning and indexing. Assist with departmental functions. Exhibits knowledge of the fundamental principles and practices of human resources administration; basic research methodology and statistical techniques; laws and regulations regarding recruitment and selection procedures. Maintains confidentiality of information acquired or overheard pertaining to patients, physicians, employees, and the business of LVMC. Understands, interprets personnel policies and procedures; gathers, interprets, and analyzes data. Performs complex clerical tasks including reviewing reports and other materials for proper format, grammar, and spelling. Uses general office machines such as printer, copier, computer, I.D. camera, and folding machine in a safe and competent manner. Complies with established hospital policies and procedures. Coordinates work assignments appropriately to ensure completion of required activities. Follows up on delegated tasks for quality and completeness. Utilizes the appropriate chain of command for resolution of difficult issues. Participates in the orientation of new staff in the department. Accepts responsibilities in a professional manner. Promotes a positive work environment. Demonstrates a professional, supportive attitude for the department staff. Is receptive and responsive to new ideas. Being flexible to changing systems. Essential Functions:
The ability to communicate by telephone or in person in a clear and consistent manner. The ability to keyboard and have fine motor skills. The ability to utilize a variety of computer programs. The ability to work with constant interruptions, and still complete work assigned. The ability to be supervised. The ability to work as a Team. The ability to have positive personal interactions with staff, patients/residents and visitors.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Additional college coursework or an Associate's degree (AA/AS) is preferred.
Experience:
Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties of the position. Two (2) years of experience in a healthcare and/or progressively responsible clerical environment is preferred.
Certifications:
Must obtain an APHR Certificate within one (1) year of hire.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits the ability to organize work assignments and follow through with accuracy, exercises good judgment, demonstrates initiative, emotional stability, tact and poise.
