Position Overview:
The HR Administrator
- Craft Field Services plays a critical support role within the Human Resources and Operations teams by coordinating craft employee onboarding and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Support & Relations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Onboarding & Hiring Coordination
- Manage onboarding for new and returning craft employees, including assisting with paperwork, documentation, and employment records. HR Administration & Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate employee records in Dayforce, including employment, training, skills, and job assignments, ensuring data integrity and organization. Compliance & Policy Adherence
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local labor laws. Safety Collaboration
- Partner with safety and operations teams to support safety training, reinforce best practices, and maintain OSHA-compliant records. Workforce Coordination
- Collaborate with Dispatch to ensure staffing needs are met and confirm all required training and certifications are completed before jobsite placement. Cross-Functional Communication
- Route employee requests appropriately and follow up to ensure timely resolution. Team Participation & Continuous Support
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and provide general HR and administrative support as needed.
Required Qualifications:
HR Experience:
2+ years of HR experience in an operations-heavy, high-volume, or field-based environment.
HRIS Systems:
Demonstrated proficiency with HRIS systems, including accurate data entry, navigation, and reporting.
Onboarding & Compliance:
Strong understanding of onboarding workflows and HR compliance requirements.
Adaptability:
Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly to changing business needs.
Communication Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with field employees and corporate stakeholders.
Employment Law Knowledge:
Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Organizational Skills:
Strong ability to file, track, and maintain accurate records with attention to detail.
Confidentiality:
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employee and client information.
Industry Knowledge:
Basic understanding of industrial, mechanical, and craft workforce skills and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
HR Systems:
Experience with Dayforce HCM (Ceridian).
Industry Experience:
Prior experience in a trade union environment or construction/heavy industrial sector.
Union & CBA Knowledge:
Familiarity with collective bargaining agreement (CBA) administration and union dispatch processes.
Compliance Knowledge:
Knowledge of Davis-Bacon Act requirements, certified payroll, and prevailing wage compliance.
Learning Systems:
Experience with learning management system (LMS) administration.
Work Environment:
Physical Conditions:
Standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. May occasionally require standing or moving between office areas.
