August 26, 2026 Our People Are Our Strength in BVSD This is an ongoing recruitment used to identify, screen, and hire qualified candidates for the district's Office Assistant III Substitute Pool. Because substitute staffing needs vary throughout the year, qualified candidates may be hired before an immediate assignment is available. Placement in the substitute pool allows the district to respond quickly when coverage needs arise; however, placement in the substitute pool does not guarantee substitute assignments, a minimum number of work hours, or ongoing employment. Assignment opportunities are based on district staffing needs, candidate qualifications, work location, and availability. Candidates selected to move forward in the hiring process will be contacted directly as opportunities arise.
Position Summary:
The Office Assistant III Substitute provides temporary administrative and clerical support to schools and district departments, ensuring daily operations continue smoothly during employee absences or other staffing needs. This position performs a variety of office functions, including customer service, data entry, record management, communication, report preparation, and general administrative support. Assignments may vary based on the needs of the school or department and may be short-term or intermittent.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee administrative and daily office operations. Use computer programs to complete tasks. Screen phone calls and troubleshoot issues for department. Communicate effectively with community members, staff, parents, and outside agencies. Compute, enter and analyze data. Maintain and update records; research as needed. Work with team to complete both routine and special projects. Maintain and follow-up on weekly reports. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years eperience in general office occupations or equivalent education and computer e perience. Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English, must pass English component of interview process. Completed and submitted BVSD online application.
Preferred:
Bilingual Spanish/English Former BVSD office professional E perience working with children. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers, keyboarding and word processing skills. Knowledge and e perience with Google, Microsoft Office and typical office equipment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with frequent interruptions. Positive communication, interaction and work e perience with diverse individuals.
Salary Information:
BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including eperience and education.
