THE ROLE

The Onboarding Assistant is primarily responsible for completing the onboarding process for union employees of Sturgeon Electric Company. The Onboarding Assistant will also assist in managing the internal movements of union employees within the Sturgeon Electric Company organization. As a full-service electrical provider, we offer industry leading electrical transmission, commercial and industrial, and renewable energy services. Sturgeon Electric has two divisions, offering both powerline construction and commercial/industrial electrical construction, making it a full-service electrical provider. Sturgeon Electric's Commercial and Industrial (C&I)electrical construction division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. We also offer design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and AutoCAD capabilities. Essential Functions The Onboarding Assistant is responsible for completing the onboarding process for Union employees

Completing new hire orientation

Completing I9 verifications for all Union hires within given deadlines

Reviewing motor vehicle reports and maintaining associated records

Maintaining all drug testing records and background checks hire set up into JDE and ensuring accuracy in all entries

Maintaining thorough Union employee records

Issuing safety PPE (personal protective equipment)

Efficiently and professionally managing the flow of information throughout the business

Operating office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, scanners, phone systems, and computers

Other duties as assigned

Regular and predictable attendance

Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location

Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

Proficiency in JD Edwards (E1) is highly preferred

Advanced administrative and onboarding skills

Good customer service and organizational skills

Problem-solving abilities

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Ability to coordinate related activities across the division

Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Word & Excel

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications High school diploma or GED is required

Minimum 3 years in administrative or onboarding-focused position(s) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Proficiency in JD Edwards (E1) is highly preferred

Advanced administrative and onboarding skills

  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to coordinate related activities across the division
  • Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Word & Excel
WHAT WE OFFER

Compensation & Benefits Salary $47,078

  • 61,202/ year
    Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
