Job Description The Human Resources Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for employees and visitors, playing a key role in creating a welcoming and supportive HR experience. This position provides high-level, confidential administrative support across all functional areas of Human Resources, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in all interactions. The role is integral to the day-to-day operations of the department and contributes to fostering a collaborative, positive, and service-oriented team environment. Responsibilities Answers questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies and hiring processes; triages and refers more complex questions to appropriate senior level HR staff. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records. Serves as primary onboarding responsibilities including meeting, reviewing, and ensuring all onboarding checklist items are accurate and complete. Primary administrative support to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources, as well as general support to the department. Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources records, documentation, and employee files. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. May assist with data entry into Oracle and benefits administration. May assist with planning and execution of special events such as employee recognition events, celebrations, new hire orientations, etc. Assists with processing of college invoices, department ordering, and employment verifications. Assists with various state and federal reporting requirements and special projects. Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 1-3 years of experience required, 3-5 years preferred Prior Human Resources experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
