Grove School is a private, therapeutic boarding school located in Madison, CT, committed to excellence in both operations and team culture. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team in a dual role supporting both the Finance and Human Resources functions.
Position Summary:
The A/P Clerk / HR Administrator will be responsible for managing daily accounts payable tasks while also supporting HR functions such as onboarding, record maintenance, and employee relations. This role requires a high level of accuracy, discretion, and multitasking ability.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (A/P)
Duties:
Process vendor invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Maintain A/P files and documentation Prepare and process check runs and ACH payments Assist with month-end closing procedures related to A/P Communicate with vendors regarding billing issues Other business office related duties
HR Administrative Duties:
Support onboarding and offboarding processes Maintain employee records (digital and physical) in compliance with company policies and legal requirements Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments and changes Help coordinate employee engagement activities and communications Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits Assist with timekeeping and payroll data entry as needed
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or HR preferred 2+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or human resources support Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Preferred:
Experience with accounting and/or HR software Knowledge of basic HR compliance regulations
