Human Resources Administrator Overview:
The HR Administrator plays a key role in supporting operational teams with all aspects of HR. This position is responsible for managing onboarding processes, maintaining employee records, coordinating office functions, and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment regulations. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.Primary Responsibilities:
Receive, review, and process incoming child support orders, income withholding orders (IWOs), tax levies, creditor garnishments, and other court-ordered withholdings in compliance with federal and state law. Calculate withholding amounts, verify disposable earnings, and apply applicable federal and state withholding limits (Consumer Credit Protection Act). Respond to employee and manager inquiries related to garnishments, status changes, and HR policies. Maintain organized records of all active garnishment orders and related correspondence. Process employee lifecycle events in the HRIS, including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves of absence, and terminations. Audit change-of-status forms for completeness and proper authorization before entry into the system. Serve as a liaison with the corporate HR team. Manage the end-to-end unemployment claims process, including receipt, review, and response to state agency notices within prescribed deadlines. Gather and compile supporting documentation (separation records, attendance history, performance records) to support the organization's position. Coordinate with managers and legal counsel as needed on contested claims or appeals. Maintain employee files and records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Support and promote employee engagement initiatives. Assist with special HR projects, audits, and process improvement initiatives as assigned. Adhere to strict confidentiality standards in the handling of all sensitive employee data. Perform additional duties as needed to support office and operational teams.Qualifications Education :
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.Experience:
Minimum 2 years of HR or payroll administration experience, with direct exposure to garnishments, child support orders, or related compliance functions strongly preferred.Skills :
Working knowledge of federal and state wage garnishment laws, including the Consumer Credit Protection Act (CCPA) and applicable state-specific rules Familiarity with unemployment insurance processes and state agency requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Strong organizational and communication skills. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive deadlines. Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment.Physical demands include:
Sitting for extended periods while working at a computer. Walking within the office to access equipment and files. Reaching, lifting, bending, and handling documents and office tools.
