Workforce Program Coordinator St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce Saint Petersburg, FL Job Details Part-time From $20 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Newsletters (communication methods) Full Job Description Position Summary The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking an organized, relationship-driven professional to support workforce development initiatives, public policy priorities, and member engagement efforts. This position will primarily coordinate the Chamber's Workforce & Talent initiatives, including implementation of the St. Pete Works EDGE grant, while providing project management support for additional advocacy committees and leadership programs. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) and funded by a three (3) year grant. The ideal candidate is passionate about connecting employers, educators, nonprofits, and government partners to solve workforce challenges through collaboration and action. This individual is equally comfortable planning events, facilitating meetings, managing data, and translating ideas into measurable outcomes. Essential Responsibilities Workforce & Talent (Primary Focus) Support implementation of the Chamber's workforce development strategy, including
HIRE:

Pete Works EDGE initiative by:
Coordinate Workforce & Talent Committee meetings, agendas, materials, and follow-up action items Manage employer engagement and recruitment efforts Coordinate employer roundtables, hiring events, workforce workshops, and career exploration activities Support community outreach efforts targeting South St. Petersburg CRA residents Develop relationships with workforce training providers, employers, schools, and community organizations Assist in planning career fairs, networking events, capstone presentations, and workforce convenings Coordinate employer participation in internships, apprenticeships, and work-based learning opportunities Maintain employer partnership database and engagement records Support implementation of workforce initiatives identified through Chamber research and employer feedback Grant & Program Management Support implementation of grant-funded initiatives by: Track grant deliverables, timelines, and performance metrics Maintain accurate participant, employer, and event data within HubSpot and other reporting systems Prepare monthly reports and supporting documentation Assist with grant compliance and documentation requirements Coordinate collection of attendance records, outreach activities, employer engagement metrics, and event outcomes Support preparation of grant renewals and future funding opportunities The position will help deliver activities including community outreach, employer roundtables, hiring fairs, capstone events, launch events, and employer engagement while maintaining documentation and reporting required under the St. Pete Works EDGE grant. Advocacy & Committee Support Provide support across the Advocacy & Leadership Department by: Coordinate committee meetings, agendas, minutes, and member communications Assist with research related to legislative priorities and public policy issues Support Advocacy in Action programs and educational events Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and meeting summaries Coordinate stakeholder outreach and coalition meetings Assist with implementation of Chamber advocacy initiatives Support candidate engagement activities during election cycles Communications & Member Engagement Develop newsletters and committee communications Promote workforce programs through digital communications and social media Create event materials and promotional content Assist with website updates and resource development Respond to member and community partner inquiries Help tell the story of Chamber workforce initiatives through success stories and impact reports Event Management Coordinate logistics for: Workforce & Talent Committee meetings Employer roundtables Hiring fairs Educational workshops Community outreach events Leadership programs Advocacy events Partner convenings Qualifications Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, Communications, Education, Political Science, Human Resources, or related field 2-4 years of experience in workforce development, nonprofit management, project management, public policy, economic development, education, or community engagement Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience planning meetings and events Excellent relationship-building and facilitation skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) Ability to analyze data and prepare reports Self-starter with exceptional organizational skills Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Workforce development Employer engagement Economic development Public policy or government affairs Grant administration Career education Chamber of Commerce or association management Community partnerships Project management Success Measures During the first year, the successful candidate will help: Successfully complete St. Pete Works EDGE grant deliverables Coordinate multiple employer engagement events and workforce convenings Maintain grant compliance and reporting requirements Grow employer participation in Chamber workforce initiatives Strengthen partnerships across education, business, nonprofit, and government sectors Support implementation of Chamber advocacy priorities Deliver measurable outcomes related to workforce programming and community engagement
