We provide HR expertise, strategic and timely support, creative and competent advice, meaningful and courteous service, and efficient and reliable processes. Job Summary This position is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to employees, retirees, and campus departments. Responsibilities The responsibilities include but are not limited to: Receives/Reviews Accuracy & Completeness of ePAR's Receives and reviews for accuracy and completeness all electronic personnel action requests and audits corresponding employment documents to include staff, NRA's, Postdocs, temporary; processes accordingly. Assist Walk-In Customers Assists walk-in customers with inquiries in a timely and courteous manner. Processes Retirement & Terminations in Timely Manner Processes supplemental retirement enrollments, changes and/or terminations in a timely manner. Provides General Retirement Information Provides general retirement information to potential retirees in the absence of the Manager, Retirement & Records Services. Review Pre-Payroll Inquiries Reviews pre-payroll queries to ensure all data is accurate prior to pay run. Processes/Enters/Reviews PeopleSoft Data Processes and enters/reviews data in PeopleSoft for all new hires, terminations, salary changes, transfers, and benefit changes (in coordination with OneUSG Connect - Benefits) in a timely and accurate manner according to the published payroll schedule. Reviews own data entry for accuracy. Provides Highest Level of Customer Service Provides highest level of customer service to campus employees, department managers, retirees and other AU business units as necessary to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee data. TRS & ORP
Retirement Plan Options for New Hires Explain TRS and ORP retirement plan options to new hires; provides information to ensure the new hire can make an informed decision within the allotted time of 60 days; follows up with employee at the 30, 45, and 59 day interval to ensure employee has made a decision and appropriate forms are submitted. Complete/Verify I9 Documentation Completes Forms 1-9, verifies 1-9 documentation and maintains 1-9 files. Submits online investigation requests and assists with new employee background checks for temporaries and non-paid affiliates. Employee Payroll Deductions Reviews employee payroll deductions and process adjustments accordingly. Assists all Employees with Benefits Assists all employees with any questions, claims, and/or issues related to their benefits coverage. Complete Clearance Process Completes AU clearance process for all terminating employees. Other Duties Performs all other related clerical functions as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a State or Federal accrediting organization and two years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in Human Resources and/or Higher Education. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and multi-task. Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Ability to work independently, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines and exercise good judgment.
