MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or any equivalent combination of related education, training and/or experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions. Three years of progressive experience in an office management position, with preference given to those candidates with experience, supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience with educational or governmental entities is preferred. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public; knowledge and understanding of benefits programs and related date management preferred.
GOAL
Provide management support in all Risk Management and Benefits processes, including the administration of budgets, and daily processes and procedures. Ensure regulatory compliance in program coordination and assist in tracking expenditures and activities for fiscal oversight.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor, interpret and implement current laws, rules and policies pertaining to areas of responsibility.
Assist the Director with review and coordination of recommendations on contracts, partnerships, policies, procedures, and new programs for the District.
Oversee all benefit vendor payments, reconciliations and retirement plans.
Oversee active retiree approvals.
Process SHBP reconciliation and continuously monitor.
Provide supervision of benefits team as assigned.
Provide management support and assistance to the Office of Risk Management/Benefits with projects relating to Employee Benefits.
Provide management support and assistance with the development and coordination of new employee orientation, annual open enrollment and distribution of correspondence and updates pertaining to benefits to all employees.
Provide oversight and ongoing analysis of all benefit enrollment transactions and related data integrity.
Ensure guaranteed issuance and evidence of insurability requirements and procedures are implemented and followed in a timely manner; and in accordance with Benefit Plan contracts/policies.
Provide recommendations to Executive Director or Directors as needed to maintain compliance with applicable state and federal laws or other Benefit Plan rules.
Support the integration and interaction of the various functions of the employee benefits program.
Serve as interdepartmental liaison for monthly processes including but not limited to Payroll, Federal Programs, and others.
Design custom ad hoc reports, resolve queries and ensure accuracy in same.
Collaborate on the annual year-end salary rollover process for all district employees, supporting completion and ensuring accuracy through detailed validation.
Assist in reviewing the Employee Compensation and Staffing Allocation Handbook.
Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignment.
Review current developments, literature and technical source information related to job responsibilities.
Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
