Apr 15, 2026 The Georgia Department of Defense State Personnel Office is looking for a detail-oriented, highly organized Human Resources Assistant to provide administrative and technical support to the State Personnel Director in multiple areas of the state human resources program. The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for the file management system of the State Personnel Office, ensuring that active and terminated employee records, position files and a wide variety of documents are in order and easily accessible and will also be responsible for a variety of other duties including: Procuring, maintaining and monitoring supplies for the office, Distributing mail and answering/sending correspondence as directed, Assisting other team members with basic HR functions such as timekeeping, reference checks, and scheduling of interviews. Strong teamwork skills, computer skills, the ability to multitask and work well under pressure are essential to success in this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following: College courses in human resources or a related area Experience with state or local government processes. Experience with Peoplesoft and/or Workday. Knowledge of military rank, structure, and organization. Additional Information The selected applicant must meet the following standards: 1.
