Overview:
This is an exciting new role perfect for someone who wants to own a key piece of our programs cycle: attracting and onboarding new program participants! This is a flex role that will adapt to the highest needs of the organization and programs team, focused on recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers, as well as family and youth, while maintaining a small caseload of matches (volunteer + foster families or youth + mentor) to stay closely connected to program impact. The person in this role will flex time and focus based on whether the higher need is volunteer recruitment or family/youth recruitment to ensure that we continue to be able to make matches without the waitlist for either growing too rapidly.
Schedule:
This is a full-time, exempt position that allows for (and requires) a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
Primary Focus:
Recruitment, Onboarding, and Matching (70%)
Recruitment:
Volunteers, Family, and Youth Understand the current volunteer or family/youth recruitment needs within the organization and conduct outreach as applicable, including (but not limited to): Posting to partner websites; sending recruitment emails; sharing via word of mouth and social media; attending networking and tabling events; working closely with the marketing team. Lead weekly volunteer discovery sessions. Lead info sessions for partner agencies and/or caregivers. Plan and host recruitment events. Success in this area looks like: Recruiting an average of 25 volunteers per month to attend discovery sessions. Recruiting least 10 families/youth per month. Intake, Assessment, and Onboarding Volunteer onboarding: Conduct volunteer intake assessment calls to assess fit for Atlanta Angels Love Box® and Dare to Dream® programs. Conduct reference checks and guide volunteers through sensitive conversations related to trauma-informed care and child welfare realities. Ensure volunteers complete all onboarding steps including documentation, driver's records, background checks, fingerprinting, and required trainings. Lead monthly trainings to prepare volunteers for connection as a long-term volunteer.
Family and youth onboarding:
Conduct family and youth intake calls to ensure eligibility for Atlanta Angels Love Box® and Dare to Dream® programs and understand their needs and preferences to ensure best match. Maintain accurate onboarding records and case notes in Apricot. Success in this area looks like: Approving an average of 10 volunteers per month; and Ensuring that at least 10 family/youth intakes are completed per month (some of which may be assigned to other Program Coordinators) Volunteer & Waitlist engagement, matching, and ongoing coordination Manage volunteer communications via email, phone, text, cards, and birthday/encouragement outreach. Assess ongoing eligibility for families and youth on the waitlist. Make matches between volunteers/mentors and families/youth. Communicate the matches and quickly transition newly formed matches to the assigned PC to preserve capacity for core onboarding duties (except for those explicitly designated to the Specialist's small baseline caseload). Maintain ongoing compliance checks and collect annual documentation for volunteers. Plan and host volunteer/mentor mixers and meetups. Success in this area looks like: An average of 10 matches made in Love Box® and Dare to Dream® Programs (combined) per month and assigned to Program Coordinators.
Secondary Focus:
Flex Program Coordination (30%) This role may also hold a small caseload of matches. The exact number will be based on capacity. As this is a flex role, this person may temporarily support matches during transitions, onboarding new Program Coordinators, and/or extended leaves. Launching and supporting a match Facilitate initial meetups and strengths assessments between families/youth and volunteers/mentors (may occur evenings/weekends). Maintain monthly check-ins with families, youth, and volunteers to support healthy, ongoing relationships. Provide conflict resolution, resource connection, coaching, training, and support. Serve as liaison between volunteers, foster families, and child placement agencies. Connect families and youth with additional community resources when appropriate. General Expectations (for both focus areas): Documentation, Reporting, & Events Maintain detailed case notes and relational outcome tracking in Apricot (all notes entered within 72 hours). Maintain tracking of onboarding and success of recruitment efforts. Assist with impact reporting through sharing experiences and program data. Support program events through coordination with families and volunteers. Attend key Atlanta Angels events (some evenings/weekends) including Spring Events, Back-to-School, Holiday Extravaganza, Gala, and other program mixers. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: A qualified candidate will be a highly skilled communicator with strong interpersonal skills and abilities to quickly curate trust-based connections (including foster families, foster youth, volunteers, mentors, corporate partners, and other Atlanta Angels supporters). This person will possess knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; and psychological needs. Program Coordinators should demonstrate a spirit of inclusivity and acceptance of people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Ability to engage in discussions around sensitive topics including child abuse, neglect, trauma, mental health, poverty, substance abuse, trust-based relational intervention, rehabilitation, social adjustment, therapeutic needs, child demographics, match trajectory, family preservation and child relational concerns. Utilize these discussions to advocate and make decisions for the best interest of the client. A qualified candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A qualified candidate will display curiosity and have the ability to be coachable in the different skills the job requires.

Personal car, valid driver's license, insurance Fingerprinting, state and federal background checks Bachelor's degree and at least one year of professional experience Programs used on the job: Google suite Apricot Zoom Slack Smartwaiver Sterling Volunteers Education and qualifications: Experience training and managing volunteers Degree in social work, human services, or related field Bachelor's Degree and 1 + year of related experience Masters Degree and 6+ months of related experience A background in social work, case management, and/or foster care is preferred, but not required. Understanding of trauma-informed care and TBRI is preferred, but not required. Salary range for this role starts at $56,000 with opportunities for annual COLAs, spot bonuses with match load growth, and annual performance-based bonus.
