Sunstates Security is hiring Full-Time Unarmed Security Officers in the Savannah, GA area. All days and shifts are available! These positions offer a pay rate of $16.50/hr, with weekly pay. Job Requirements We are seeking a dependable, professional, and highly Security Officer to support a safe and secure environment. This position will be assigned primarily to a museum campus and will be responsible for maintaining a visible security presence, protecting staff, visitors, and property, and responding appropriately to safety or security concerns. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while following all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Key Responsibilities Maintain a professional, visible security presence on grounds during assigned hours. Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, hallways, and other designated areas to help deter unauthorized activity. Assist with access control by verifying visitors, vendors, and authorized personnel according to school procedures. Conduct routine patrols of the interior and exterior of the museum campus. Observe, identify, and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, policy violations, or security concerns. Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, alarms, disturbances, or requests for assistance. Support administrators and staff during, events, drills, and emergency situations. Use de-escalation techniques and sound judgment when interacting with staff, and visitors. Prepare clear, accurate, and timely incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation. Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and company leadership when necessary. Follow all post orders, company policies, school safety protocols, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age, or meet the minimum age required by applicable law and company policy. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Must have authorization to work in the United States. Prior security, law enforcement, military, school security, or public safety experience preferred. Strong communication, observation, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to interact professionally with staff, visitors, and law enforcement personnel. Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and remain alert for extended periods. Must maintain a neat, professional appearance and comply with uniform and grooming standards. Preferred Skills and Experience Knowledge of emergency response procedures, access control, report writing, and incident documentation. Training in de-escalation, crisis response, CPR/First Aid, or active-threat response preferred. Ability to remain composed and make appropriate decisions in stressful or fast-moving situations. Work Environment This position is assigned primarily to a museum setting and may require regular interaction with faculty, visitors, vendors, and emergency personnel. The officer may work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and must remain attentive, professional, and approachable throughout the shift. A Security Officerr may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
