The Hotel Human Resources Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel by providing support with all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding. You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that keep our HR department running efficiently. You play a strategic role in ensuring the organization has a talented and engaged workforce that supports the overall business goals.
Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition:
Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent. Organizing the interview process, including posting job openings, coordinating with hotel department heads, and scheduling interviews
Onboarding and Training:
Design and implement onboarding programs to help new hires adjust to the company culture and role. Manage employee Marriott training and development programs to ensure employees have the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Requesting all property access needed to perform departmental job functions. Process new hire paperwork, ensuring all onboarding documents are completed accurately and efficiently. Maintain employee files, including payroll information, benefits enrollment, and performance reviews.
Compensation and Benefits:
Develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits packages. Ensuring that bi-weekly payroll submissions are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Ensure that all employees are reporting to work in a timely manner, and employee breaks are in compliance.
Performance Management:
Work with managers to establish performance goals and conduct performance reviews, ensuring performance reviews are delivered to employees in a timely manner during milestones anniversary periods.
Employee Relations:
Address employee concerns, mediate disputes, and enforce company policies. Promote a positive and productive work environment. Provide administrative support for employee relations activities, such as processing leaves of absence and handling basic inquiries. Organizing employee relations events monthly, while displaying and promoting a positive working culture.
HR Compliance:
Stay up-to-date on Illinois employment laws and regulations and ensure the company is in compliance. Conduct investigations into workplace issues. Investigate employee claims with General Manager and Upper Management to provide a resolution to employees and department heads. Issues employee discipline forms when polices and procedures are not upheld.
Strategic Planning:
Partner with business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the overall business goals. Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the General Manager and Upper Management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in human resources management. Strong understanding of employment law and regulations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in HR software and information systems. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in the hospitality industry a plus.
