Filing Attention to detail Full Job Description About the Role We're hiring an experienced Human Resources Specialist to support both recruitment and onboarding , maintain complete and compliant employee files, and help ensure agency-wide adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and confident managing multiple HR processes from candidate pipeline through new-hire integration. If you are a self-starter with strong Paylocity expertise , recruitment experience, and a passion for building smooth, compliant HR workflows, we want to meet you. What You'll DoRecruitment & Hiring Support the full recruitment process from job posting through candidate selection and pre-employment steps. Draft and post job ads, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, communicate with candidates, and support hiring managers throughout the selection process. Track candidate movement and hiring activity to ensure a smooth and professional applicant experience. Partner with leadership to help fill open roles efficiently and maintain hiring momentum across the agency. Onboarding Drive the full new-hire journey, including offers, background and registry checks, I-9/E-Verify, new-hire packets, benefits enrollment, IT tickets, and Day 1 readiness. Ensure a smooth transition from candidate to employee by coordinating all onboarding steps with accuracy and timeliness. Records & Compliance Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready personnel files, including licenses, continuing education, health screenings, TB documentation, acknowledgments, and required employment records. Track deadlines, expirations, renewals, and outstanding documentation to ensure ongoing compliance. Policy Adherence Help ensure compliance with agency policies and applicable employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, OSHA, and
KDADS/KDHE
requirements as applicable. HRIS / Paylocity Build and manage workflows, onboarding checklists, position and compensation changes, document storage, and reporting dashboards in Paylocity. Maintain accurate employee data and support process efficiency through strong HRIS management. Training & Acknowledgments Assign required trainings, track completion, and escalate non-compliance as needed. Support the documentation and acknowledgment process for key policies and procedures. Employee & Manager Support Serve as a first point of contact for HR questions and provide guidance to managers on forms, documentation standards, hiring steps, onboarding timelines, and related HR processes. What You Bring 3-5+ years of progressive HR experience , with recruitment and onboarding responsibility preferred. Healthcare, multi-site, or high-growth environment experience preferred. Hands-on Paylocity experience required , including onboarding, document management, workflows, and reporting. Experience supporting or coordinating recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate communication, interview scheduling, and hiring process tracking. Proven self-starter with exceptional ownership, follow-through, and attention to detail. Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices; experience with licensure and credential tracking is a plus. Excellent communication skills, discretion with confidential information, and a strong service mindset. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace; comfort collaborating across HR, Compliance, IT, and Operations. Why Thrive Mission-driven team improving lives across Kansas.
