Ronpak has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Human Resources Assistant at our Shreveport, LA plant. The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions at the plant. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to payroll, benefits, recruiting, and employee relations.
Essential Job Functions:
Coordinate pre-employment tests and background checks. Prepare for and conduct new hire orientation. Prepare paperwork needed to create new employee files and enter new employee on payroll system. Maintain employee files records in an up-to-date manner by handling changes in employee status and/or data promptly and accurately. Maintain sensitive and confidential information. Review payroll information, including time sheets and attendance records, for payroll processing to ensure accuracy. Screen and track the employment of temporary staff. Track and record all employee requests for time off. Ensure all workers compensation claim documentation is completed and provided to insurer. Maintain and file all claim documentation timely. Work with insurance broker and HR team to administer benefits. Produce reports from the personnel database as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum of three years' experience in HR. Manufacturing or industrial experience a plus. Computer experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. Experience with payroll and HRIS software, such as Kronos or UKG Pro programs preferred. Proven analytical and abstract reasoning skills.

Strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Analytical and abstract reasoning skills, problem solving skills and ability to exercise sound judgement and maintain confidentiality. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate both written and verbally and manage well at all levels of the organization.
