Stonehill College's Human Resources team is looking for a motivated, detail-driven HR Assistant to support a wide range of HR operations that keep our faculty and staff informed, engaged, and supported. This is an excellent opportunity for an administrative assistant to take ownership of critical HR functions, collaborate with leadership, and contribute directly to employee engagement, development, and organizational success. You will be a trusted partner to employees and managers, supporting HR initiatives that drive company culture, retention, and operational excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a knowledgeable, frontline HR resource for employees and managers—providing guidance, answering questions, and ensuring a positive employee experience. Manage unemployment claims. Input facilities work orders for the team. Organize and implement employee service awards. Manage accident reports and workers' compensation claims and complete the required report each year. Coordinate new hire orientation with a colleague in our mission office. Process RFPs (Requests for Payment) for the HR Team using the Emburse system. Proactively manage the departmental budget. Schedule meetings, events, and professional development programs using our Live25 system and Microsoft Office. Maintain confidential employee files and perform regular audits to ensure compliance. Manage 1-2 student employees throughout the year. Maintain driver safety compliance in the Embark Safety Management System. Responsible for following Records Retention guidelines. Accept and review College and government documentation, including I-9s. Coordinate and plan the yearly employee appreciation event in May. Update the annual emergency contact list yearly. Enter data, including comp and bonus days, into our ERP system. Update information as needed. Support the Employee Health and Wellness Coordinator as needed. Other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience Associate degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. 1-2 years of administrative experience. Human resources experience in a college environment is a plus. Strong administrative skills with exceptional accuracy, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including intermediate Excel). Experience with HRIS systems and Banner ERP is a plus. Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills. Strong problem‑solving ability and eagerness to contribute to continuous improvement. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet (printers, telephones, visitors, etc).
