Come join Sweetser's team! The Human Resources Intern will provide administrative and project support to a busy, multifaceted nonprofit Human Resources Department. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of human resource functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, employee records, workers' compensation, leave administration, and organizational projects. The HR Intern will work closely with members of the Human Resources team and assist with both day-to-day administrative responsibilities and special projects that support Sweetser's organizational strategies and goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department in a fast-paced, multifaceted nonprofit environment. Assist with the review, development, and updating of job descriptions as part of the department's job description project. Assist with the development and maintenance of pay scale information and related compensation projects. Coordinate and participate in Human Resources and organization-wide projects as needed to support organizational strategies and initiatives. Perform administrative tasks to support the new-hire processing and orientation process. Assist with administrative tasks related to benefits administration. Provide administrative support for workers' compensation processes. Assist with maintaining and organizing personnel files to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, as well as Council on Accreditation (COA) standards. Conduct reference checks and background verification as needed. Assist with maintaining accurate and organized employee records and HR documentation. Support the Human Resources team with data entry, document preparation, filing, and other administrative duties. Assist with various Human Resources projects and initiatives as assigned. Maintain confidentiality when working with employee and organizational information. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
