Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist and HR Assistant to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage payroll processing, ensure compliance with labor and tax laws, and support various human resources functions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong technical skills, confidentiality, and a proactive approach to payroll management and HR support. Responsibilities Process payroll accurately and efficiently using UKG Ready ensuring timely payments for all employees. Maintain and update employee records within HRIS platform ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Reconcile payroll accounts through detailed analysis of spreadsheets and accounting software, including QuickBooks. Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and payroll tax requirements by staying current with changes in tax law and labor law legislation. Assist with administering employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries related to health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Support HR functions such as onboarding new hires, maintaining personnel files, assisting with time & attendance tracking. Handle sensitive information with discretion while performing data entry tasks related to payroll processing and HR administration. Experience Proven experience in payroll management with a focus on payroll processing and HR support. Familiarity with multiple payroll systems including UKG Ready is highly preferred. Strong understanding of employment & labor law as well as payroll tax regulations to ensure compliance across all processes. Demonstrated proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), accounting software (QuickBooks), and financial analysis skills for account reconciliation and journal entries. Experience working with HRIS platforms such as UKG Ready employee data management. Knowledge of benefits administration processes and non-profit accounting practices is a plus. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining confidentiality.
