The Arthur Center is looking for someone who wants to grow their HR career in a place where the work truly matters. The Human Resource Assistant supports the Human Resources department by performing administrative duties across a range of personnel functions. From recruitment and onboarding to employee records and benefits coordination, this role plays an important part in keeping our HR operations running smoothly - and in helping our team members feel supported from day one. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Assist with the recruitment process, including scheduling/conducting screenings, and communicating with teams. Support onboarding and orientation of new hires, ensuring all required documentation is completed and properly filed. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in digital formats. Provide administrative support for training initiatives related to the Employee Handbook and HR policies. Help track and maintain data for HR reports, audits, and compliance requirements. Assist in managing the HRIS (Paycor), including data entry, updates, and troubleshooting basic employee inquiries. Support benefits administration by helping employees navigate enrollment, changes, and general questions. Assist with performance improvement documentation and disciplinary action processing as directed by HR leadership. Ensure processes comply with equal employment opportunity regulations and organizational policies. Help coordinate employee programs, engagement initiatives, and developmental activities. Maintain HR files, forms, and documents with attention to accuracy and confidentiality. Provide general administrative support to the HR Manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Effective time-management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment in handling sensitive information. Basic knowledge of employment laws, HR processes, and workplace regulations preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning HR-related software systems. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a high school diploma is required.Preferred:
Associate degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or one (1) or more years of experience in an HR, administrative, or office support role. HR-related certification or coursework (e.g., SHRM, HR fundamentals training) is preferred but not required. 0-2 years of experience in HR, administrative support, or a related role.Top benefits or perks:
