Job Description
Human Resources and Recruiting Assistant Piedmont Metals of Burlington, Inc. Job Summary Piedmont Metals is seeking a highly organized and motivated Human Resources Assistant to support our growing HR and Talent Acquisition team. This role is responsible for assisting with recruiting, onboarding, employee records management, attendance tracking, interview scheduling, and various HR administrative functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and able to handle confidential information with discretion. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in Human Resources while gaining hands-on experience in recruiting, employee relations, and HR administration within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Support Schedule interviews and coordinate communication between candidates and hiring managers. Assist with job postings and recruiting activities. Support the Talent Acquisition Partner with sourcing and hiring initiatives. Coordinate pre-employment screenings, background checks, and onboarding requirements. Maintain candidate records and assist with recruitment reporting. Employee Onboarding & HR Administration Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation. Prepare onboarding packets and employment documentation. Maintain employee personnel files and HR records. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and filed appropriately. Assist employees with general HR-related questions and direct inquiries as needed. Attendance & Payroll Support Review employee timecards and attendance records for accuracy. Track attendance, tardiness, and employee hours. Assist with payroll preparation and verification processes. Maintain attendance-related documentation and reports. Administrative Support Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and HR documents. Maintain filing systems and employee records. Assist with employee events, training programs, and recognition activities. Support HR compliance and recordkeeping requirements. Perform additional administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year of administrative, human resources, or related experience. Previous Human Resources, recruiting experience preferred. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. Experience with HRIS, payroll, or applicant tracking systems preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to occasionally walk throughout office and manufacturing areas. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Why Join Piedmont Metals?
