Human Resources Assistant 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 741 5th SW Street, Hickory, NC 28602 Integrated Care for Greater Health, Inc 18 reviews Role Overview We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented HR Assistant to help run the daily administrative operations of our Human Resources department. As the first point of contact for many employee inquiries, you will play a critical role in ensuring a positive employee experience. You will support the HR team across various functions, including recruitment, onboarding, record maintenance, and payroll processing. Key Responsibilities Administrative Support Maintain and update sensitive employee records securely within our Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Process employment verifications and respond to general HR inquiries from employees and external partners. Assist in drafting and distributing company-wide HR communications. Organize and maintain digital and physical personnel files in compliance with state and federal laws. Recruitment & Onboarding Draft, format, and post job descriptions to job boards and our internal career page. Review initial resumes, schedule interviews with hiring managers, and coordinate candidate communication. Initiate and track background checks and reference checks. Prepare new hire packets, assist with I-9 verification, and help conduct new hire orientation. Benefits & Payroll Support Assist employees with basic questions regarding benefits, PTO, and company policies. Support the annual benefits open enrollment process. Help review timecards for accuracy and assist the payroll team with data entry prior to processing. Culture & Employee Relations Assist in planning and executing company events, wellness programs, and team-building activities. Help administer employee recognition programs and milestone tracking (e.g., work anniversaries, birthdays).
Qualifications & Skills Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience:
1-2 years of administrative experience; prior experience in an HR department is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace. Familiarity with HR software (e.g., BambooHR, Workday) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is a plus.
Confidentiality:
Absolute discretion and integrity when handling sensitive and confidential employee information.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
Organization:
Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
