Job Description

The Police Staffing Specialist is a full-time position that handles sworn and non-sworn application and testing. Coordinator will enter and update all information to include hiring, pending, and discontinued application in Recruit Pistol.
Required Duties:
The Recruiting Coordinator updates the Recruiting website, is a system administrator for LESI, NEOGOV, Typing Test Pro, and Equifax. This position handles the main administrative duties required of the Recruiting Unit. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, and Microsoft Word.
Examples of Duties:
Prepares recruiting plans and recruiting analysis at the beginning of each year. Serves as liaison for all direcors of the agency. Scales all initial application for available positions in the department. Sets up testing dates for all sworn applicants. Runs all criminal and traffic histories for applicants through Records Division. Maintains sworn and non-sworn statistics.
Examples of Work:
Must have knowledge of Recruit Pistol, City Website, LESI, NEOGOV, and typing test procedures. Subject matter expert on CALEA for the Recruiting Unit.
Employment Standards:
Investigative and interview skills, NC General Statues, Labor Laws as related to hiring, background investigation procedures, knowledge of resources available for conducting background investigations and knowledge of (ADA) Americans with Disabilities Act. Computer, email, and voicemail operating knowledge. Must be able to effectively communicate written and orally in English.
Special Requirement:
Must be able to meet all specialized training required for this position. Must attend a background investigation school. Must be a notary or be able to acquire a notary certification.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to multi-task, have good time management, and good presentation skills. Must be flexible and be able to work some weekends.
