Description of Work:
The HR team of the Business & Finance Business Center provides expert HR and payroll support so our units can focus on keeping University infrastructure running smoothly. We help units navigate hiring, payroll, and HR processes with responsiveness, accuracy, and a willingness to help. As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will: Serve in a customer-facing role and is responsible for providing human resources support in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines. Provide departmental human resource-related support for UNL Police Department including moderately complex payroll transactions. Work closely with employees within the UNL Police Department, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions. Function under general supervision and utilize technology to provide professional services. Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma plus three (3) years of related payroll or human resources work experience; OR Associate degree in business or related field plus one (1) year of related payroll or human resources work experience. Additional completed relevant education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis. A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Knowledge of payroll and/or human resources terminology and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are preferred but not required: Experience with SAP or other large integrated finance or human resources system. Experience with an HRIS, payroll processing, applicant tracking or similar system. Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices.
Posted Salary:
$21.130/hr minimum
