The One-Stop/American Job Center system, operated by Chicanos Por La Causa, connects job seekers and employers to a full range of workforce and training services in one convenient location. Through partnerships with state agencies, education providers, and community organizations, the One-Stop network serves adults, dislocated workers, and young people by offering career exploration, job search assistance, skills training, work experience opportunities, and supportive services that help remove barriers to employment. Employers receive support with recruitment, candidate screening, and access to qualified talent, while the system helps align local workforce needs with regional economic and industry demands. This position will be office based in Santa Fe and will travel periodically within the Northern New Mexico counties to affiliate sites, and workforce events.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?
You will plan, coordinate, and organize programs and service delivery of the One-Stop Center.
You will establish operating procedures and protocols, control functional activities, and service delivery among One-Stop Center Consortium Partners.
You will serve as liaison and governance among One-Stop System members, i.e., various public, private, and non-profit agencies, both co-located on-site and external linkages as well.
You will perform staff support services for the Northern New Mexico Workforce Investment Area.
You will prepare necessary reports of One-Stop Center employment and training activity statistics in support of the Northern New Mexico Workforce Investment Area. Tasks performed and decisions made by the Workforce Program Coordinator may affect the overall operations of the Northern New Mexico Workforce Investment Area. It is imperative that the Workforce Program Coordinator exercises good judgment and due diligence with care when performing duties and communicating on behalf of CPLC Workforce Solutions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will supervise the One-Stop Administrative Assistant.
SPECIALIZATIONS
Requires the ability to supervise all of the One Stop Center activities
Ability to interpret, explain, and apply principles of public and private agency employment and training administration
Requires current knowledge of federal and state laws, statutes, policies and regulations pertaining to Local Workforce Development Boards and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act
Ability to analyze problems and opportunities, identify and evaluate alternatives, and develop sound, effective approaches
Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate the achievement of goals, objectives and work plans
Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written), with elected officials, members of the Board of Directors, regulators, private businesses, employees, attorneys, contractors, and vendors;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of citizens, local business leaders, and representatives of public agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education /
Background:
A Bachelor's or Associate's degree and a minimum of 2-years management experience aligning organizational objectives to organizational goals; achieving operational goals and exceeding customer expectations (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Other Requirements:
